SMS Opt-In & Messaging Policy

Jones's Barbershop (Ocean Beach, San Diego) sends text messages to customers about their appointments: booking confirmations, reminders, reschedule and cancellation notices, waitlist offers, and occasional review requests and promotions. This page describes how customers consent to receive those messages.
How customers opt in
Customers opt in on our online booking form at jonesbarbershopsd.com/book. After choosing a service, a barber, and a time, the final step (“Your Info”) asks for the customer's name and phone number. By providing their phone number to complete a booking, the customer consents to receive transactional appointment messages (confirmations and reminders) about that booking.
Directly beneath the phone number field, an unchecked opt-in checkbox additionally lets the customer agree to receive promotional texts. Checking this box is optional and is not a condition of booking. The disclosures below the checkbox state the message frequency, that message and data rates may apply, and how to get help or opt out, and they link to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

The consent language shown at booking
The checkbox label reads, verbatim:
“I agree to receive occasional marketing texts (special offers and updates) from Jones's Barbershop at the phone number above. Appointment reminders are always sent and don't require this.”
The fine print shown directly below the checkbox reads, verbatim:
“Message frequency varies (typically 2–4 messages per appointment). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of booking. See our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.”
Message frequency
Message frequency varies, typically 2 to 4 messages per appointment (confirmation, reminders, and a post-appointment review request), plus the occasional promotional message if the customer opted in. Message and data rates may apply.
How to get help or opt out
- Opt out: reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any message to stop all texts. The customer receives a confirmation and no further messages are sent.
- Help: reply HELP (or INFO) for help. Customers can also call the shop at (619) 500-9396.
- Resubscribe: reply START to opt back in.
Privacy
